Object Tattoo

I think a tattoo would be wasted on an object.

Decoration is for the deserving, Veterans, Scars, Canvas and the like. A mug doesn't cut it here. Maybe yours needs personality, but not mine.

This project used to be about autobiography but now it stresses location. In order to keep my progress I have kept it personal to me. The concept has been better refined with the added mix of purpose.

This is the Bot I took to last weeks critique. The feedback pointed to a good sketch but one without much thought. I based it loosely on the metal plate I had 'installed' in the summer of 2016. (below) My own personal interest in the tech/machine was not enough to justify a tattoo.

Gnarly hey? That's never coming out.

Remember I said decoration was for the deserving?
I went through a lot of pain after that break.
Sometimes its an unconscious part of me.
Rightly so, its not characteristic to dwell.
But I've got a good scar to show for it, wears like a tattoo.
Most people ask about the scar, it is what they can see
There is a little bit more below the surface.
I don't like to showcase everything

So here is my visual representation. No visible screws and no bone here,
reveals a bit more of the story without sacrificing privacy.
But I lost that already.

Blogs peeve me, I'd prefer not to keep one up.

This is a stencil. I'll pierce and saw a copper sample once it's printed. Maybe some etching. Eventually I'll attach a silver plate to the shoulder sleeve of a shirt. I could even place the sticker onto my shoulder, using body paint to outline the shape onto my skin.
Thanks.

  1. I am really excited about this concept, and love how it has evolved. Looking forward to seeing the vinyl!
