A Sample

Partnered with Emily for the CNC Sample, we began by discussing form and shape. Very quickly we settled on architecture and the Empire State skyscraper. One iconic skyscraper, endlessly represented in hollywood. The sharp geometric forms transfer very well into the mechanised manufacture of a computer numeric controlled machine.

Figuring out that the

Bow skyscraper would need to be 

plotted twice for a mold.

Emily's sharp drawings better inform modelling

Building the outlines strengthened the finished poly-surface. Tilting to make use of the space. Symmetry allowed us to plot only 1 half of the building in limited space, to be used for the whole model. 2 plates for a casting mold.
