Eyewear Refinement

Hey readers. This is up here in blogger to introduce my eyewear. From the in-class critique some of you saw the mirror designs but I will share with others below.

In reading order: horse vision through mirrors, fruit and vegetable goggles, fans for eyes, bug eyes, fracture glasses, split vision through centered mirror.

Through peer feedback I have chosen to work with distortion/reflection. Classmates felt the interaction of mirrors and vision had potential and I agreed. The last sketch above is one of a mirror placed directly between the eyes. The mirror reflects light from my peripherals, placing far side images directly in front of my face. The feedback I received pushed me to design the eyewear as a cohesive piece. While glasses with a centralised mirror acheives the correct distortion, the visual unity of the eyewear was not as strong. My goal became better design.

I found that light travels in line. Then my designs also became very linear. I favor the central head gear. With thin straight material travelling up from the bridge of the brow, centered over the head and holding the back snug. Minimal is better here. The visual emphasis is on the mirror. As long as all is linear we have a cohesive design.
